Ways to Help

Involvement through volunteering and other activities is a great way for you to make a difference. You can enhance your skills, and community contacts by serving in leadership roles.

There's always plenty to do, a wide variety of activities to choose from, and you can have a lot of fun.

The opportunities created and the traditions we pass to future graduates will be as strong, as interesting, and as important as you make them.

Ways to Help1.  Keep your address and other information updated.

2.  Make an unrestricted gift to Mines Annual Fund.

3.  Recommend a prospective student to the Admissions Office.

4.  Wear Mines shirts, hats, etc.

5.  Hang your diploma(s) proudly in your office.

6.  Clip articles you see about Mines and send them to the Alumni Association.

7.  Join an Alumni Association section.

8.  Represent Mines at a college fair.

9.  Attend School athletic events.

10. Put a Mines sticker in your car window.

11. Serve on the Alumni Association board.

12. Submit news about yourself for the "Miners on the Move" section of Mines Magazine.

13. Write an article for Mines Magazine.

14. Visit the campus frequently.

15. Speak about Mines to a school guidance counselor

16. Serve as a speaker in your area of expertise at trade associations and meetings of professional groups.

17. Establish a charitable remainder trust to benefit the School.

18. Be a host for a visiting student or family.

19. Get an Alumni Association MasterCard or Visa. Every time you use it a donation is made to the Alumni Association.

20. Request a faculty, staff, or student speaker for your school, civic group, trade association, or professional association.

21. Host an alumni gathering at your home or place of business.

22. Help plan a reunion for your class.

23. Help find "lost" alumni.

24. Mentor a current student.

25. Let the Career Center know of any job openings at your company.

26. Provide current students with the opportunity to do "mock", or better yet, real job interviews with you or your business.

27. Donate books to the library.

28. Donate computer equipment to the School.

29. Attend commencement.

30. Honor your School by mentioning you Mines affiliation when you are honored.

31. If you work for a matching gift company, be sure to send in your matching gift form.

32. Put Mines in your will.

33. Come home in your reunion year.

34. Establish an endowed scholarship fund for your class or to honor a favorite professor or classmate.

35. Write to your legislators regarding the importance of funding Mines.

36. Invite a student to lunch, or dinner.

37. Hire Mines graduates, and encourage others in similar positions to do likewise.

38. Become a member of your class Reunion Gift Committee.
